How to exchange/return a terminal

  1. Are you ready?

    In this tutorial, we are going to learn how to exchange or return a terminal. To learn more about these options please review "Terminal Order Management Guide"
    We will proceed as follows:
    • Log in and switch to the Terminal perspective;
    • Select and deactivate a terminal you want to exchange/return;
    • Switch to the Merchant/Console/Fulfillment perspective and create a new order.
  2. First, let's learn how to deactivate a terminal you want to replace or return.
  3. Log in to the system using your Username and Password and switch to the Management => Terminal Perspective.

    Note: To learn how to log in and select perspectives, use the prerequisite tutorial Logging in and navigating the application.
  4. Select appropriate Merchant or Merchant Account in the top left section of the screen.
  5. Locate     Terminals  dropdown in the top section of the screen and select a terminal that you want to replace or return.
  6. Click   Detailsbutton in the top right section of the screen.
  7. Locate   Details  tab
  8. Locate   General  groupbox
  9. Locate   Status  readonly
  10. Click Actionsbutton
  11. Choose Change Status  menu item  from the list.
  12. Choose Deactivate  menu item  from the list and click Ok button in the pop-up window to deactivate the terminal.
  13. Click   Savebutton
  14. Now, let's create a new order to replace or return the deactivated terminal.
  15. You can create a new order using the Orders form, which is available at the following places:

    • Perspective => Console => Equipment => Orders
    • Perspective => Management => Merchant => Equipment => Orders
    • Perspective => Management => Fulfillment => Equipment => Orders

    You can choose any place you like.
  16. Select appropriate Merchant or Merchant Account in the top left section of the screen.
    Note: You need to select a merchant account associated with the deactivated terminal.
  17. Click   Equipmentbutton in the top section of the screen.
  18. Choose   Orders  menu item   from the list.
  19. Follow the steps described in Ordering a terminal tutorial to replace or return a terminal that has been previously deactivated (steps 5-31).
    Note that you need to select either Exchange or Return radio button in Order Type textbox and select a code of the deactivated terminal in Terminal Code dropdown.
  20. Congratulations, you are done!
