Onboarding a new merchant

  1. Are you ready?

    In this tutorial, we are going to learn how to onboard a new merchant via the user interface. We will set up a merchant representing a fast-food restaurant with three cash registers which will process transactions through Vantiv Lowell. Note that the onboarding mechanism is necessary for initial merchant setup - it allows to delegate the responsibility for initial data entry to the merchant and eliminates the need for manual procedures involved in the underwriting process.

    We will use the following parameters:
    Accounts: Multiple (We need a separate account for each register)
    Tax IDs: Single (All accounts represent cash registers that belong to one corporate entity; that is why Tax ID is the same)
    Descriptors: Single (Same as Tax IDs, everything is done under the same entity and the same descriptor can be used)
    Deposit Accounts: Single (All money process through the cash registers and deposit to the single account)
    Monthly Fees: Per Merchant (All money is charged to the restaurant regardless of a number of cash registers)

  2. Log in to the system using your Username and Password and switch to the Management => Merchant Perspective.

    Note: To learn how to log in and select perspectives, use the prerequisite tutorial Logging in and navigating the application.
  3. Click   Newbutton in the top left section of the screen.
  4. Choose   Merchant (Onboarding)  menu item  
  5. Click
  6. Choose vantiv-lowell from the list.
  7. Locate   General  tab to enter basic information required for merchant onboarding.
  8. Locate   Detail  groupbox
  9. Enter My First Merchant into the Nametextbox
  10. Locate   Settings  groupbox
  11. Locate   Profile  label
  12. Locate   Accounts  label
  13. Locate   Multiple  radio button and click on it.
  14. Locate   Tax IDs  label
  15. Locate   Single  radio button and click on it.
  16. Locate   Descriptors  label
  17. Locate   Multiple  radio button and click on it.
  18. Locate   Deposit Accounts  label
  19. Locate   Multiple  radio button and click on it.
  20. Locate   Recurring Fees  label
  21. Locate   Per Merchant  radio button and click on it.
  22. Click
  23. Locate   Business  tab to enter business-specific information required for merchant onboarding.
  24. Locate   Business Information  groupbox
  25. Enter SuperFood into the Legaltextbox
  26. Enter 221234567 into the Tax IDtextbox
  27. Enter 5813 into the MCCtextbox
  28. Locate   Ownership Type  dropdown and choose Limited Partnership
  29. Locate   State  dropdown
  30. Select New York in Statedropdown

  33. Locate   State  dropdown and choose US menu item.
  34. Choose New York menu item next to the State dropdown.

  55. Locate   Profile List  groupbox and, if you have previously created configuration via script, choose the profile you need from the Configuration dropdown
  56. Locate   Remittance  groupbox
  57. Enter John Smith into the
  58. Enter 4099999992 into the Account #textbox
  59. Enter 021000021 into the Routing #textbox
  60. Click
  61. Click Processtab
  62. Locate   Process List  groupbox
  63. Click   Status Updatebutton to get the status of the onboarding process, whether it is pending, approved or declined.
  64. Close the form once you receive the response.
  65. Log in to the system using your Username and Password and switch to the Management => Merchant perspective.
