Creating a new payment for a customer

  1. Are you ready?

    In this tutorial we are going to learn how to create a new payment for an existing customer using New Sale form. We will use the customer created in Creating a customer tutorial.

    We will use the following parameters:
    Customer's Name: John Smith
    Payment type: Single
    Amount: $10.00
    Payment description: Enrollment Fee

    Payment Source: Bank Account
    Name on Account: John Smith
    Account #: 4099999992
    Routing #: 021000021
  2. Log in to the system using your Username and Password and switch to the Console Perspective.

    Note: To learn how to log in and select perspectives, use the prerequisite tutorial Logging in and navigating the application.
  3. Select appropriate Merchant or Merchant Account in the top left section of the screen.
  4. Click   Customersbutton in the top section of the screen.
  5. Choose   List  menu item  from the list.
  6. Locate   Search  groupbox
  7. Enter John into the First Nametextbox
  8. Enter Smith into the Last Nametextbox
  9. Click   Findbutton
  10. Click   New Salebutton
  11. Locate   Customer Account List  groupbox
  12. Locate   Payment  groupbox
  13. Locate   Single Payment  radio button and select it.
  14. Locate   Save Payment Option  checkbox and check it off. This option allows you to save this payment option and use it for future payments.
  15. Locate   Single Payment  groupbox
  16. Enter 10 into the Amounttextbox
  17. Enter Enrollment Fee into the Descriptiontextbox
  18. Locate   Bank Account  radio button and select it.
  19. Enter John Smith into the Name on Accounttextbox
  20. Select Create New in Existingdropdown
  21. Enter 4099999992 into the Account #textbox
  22. Enter 021000021 into the Routing #textbox
  23. Click Same As Customer's Home Adressbutton to fill out address-related fields automatically with data entered as contact information.
  24. Click   Processbutton
  25. Congratulations, you are done!
