Adding a new distribution schema (Convenience Fee Handling use case)

  1. Are you ready?

    In this tutorial we are going to learn how to add a new distribution schema that includes convenience fee. This schema is used in case when a merchant has to send a specific fixed amount charged from every transaction to the reseller, associated with this merchant. In addition, in our case a merchant is sending a certain amount to the gateway to cover future merchant service fees.

    We will use the following parameters:
    Name: Convenience Fee Handling

    Account type: Bank Account
    Amount: 4.99
    Source: Total Fee
    Destination: Holding account => Reseller 1

    Account type: Payment Card
    Amount: 4.99
    Source: Total Fee
    Destination: Holding account => Reseller 1

    Account type: Payment Card
    Rate: 100
    Source: Remaining Fee
    Destination: Convenience Fee Balance
  2. Log in to the system using your Username and Password and switch to the Management => Portfolio Perspective.

    Note: To learn how to log in and select perspectives, use the prerequisite tutorial Logging in and navigating the application.
  3. Click   Distributionsbutton in the top section of the screen.
  4. Click   Addbutton
  5. Locate   Detail  groupbox
  6. Enter Convenience Fee Handling into the Nametextbox
  7. Locate   Active  checkbox and check it off.
  8. Locate   Rules  groupbox
  9. Select Bank Account in Account Typecolumn
  10. Enter 4.99 into the Amountcolumn
  11. Select Total Fee in Sourcecolumn
  12. Select Holding Account in Destinationcolumn
  13. Select Reseller 1 in the dropdown next to the Holding Account.
  14. Now, let's create the second rule.
  15. Click   Rulebutton
  16. Select Payment Card in Account Typecolumn
  17. Enter 4.99 into the Amountcolumn
  18. Select Total Fee in Sourcecolumn
  19. Select Holding Account in Destinationcolumn
  20. Select Reseller 1 in the dropdown next to the Holding Account.
  21. Let's create the third rule.
  22. Click   Rulebutton
  23. Select Payment Card in Account Typecolumn
  24. Enter 100 into the Ratecolumn
  25. Select Remaining Fee in Sourcecolumn
  26. Select Convenience Fee Balance in Destinationcolumn
  27. After you are done, your screen will look similar to the screenshot.
  28. Click   Savebutton
  29. Congratulations, you are done!
